I had heard on the show I think that had the government allowed them, that the coal plants could have been fired up to supply all of the electricity needs during the freeze. Is this true or not?

if it is true, does anyone have any links or proof?

They requested, from the Feds, to operate at a higher than 100 % capacity but the Biden Administration would not consent.   Several years ago during a very cold event, some of the natural gas compressor stations in north Louisiana were authorized to operate at 125% capacity but then they were pumping natural gas north.  The pipeline at one particular station was 48 inches in diameter (4 feet), large enough to ride a bicycle through.  Their windmills froze due to the precipitation and the solar panes were covered with snow.
