“United States” is not one simple word. We are “United” States.

We are a bunch of States united under one cause.

Each State has its own individual needs.

One giant central Government does not “unite” us… it “divides” us.

Well put Canary. That concept seems to have been lost. The Founding Fathers never designed the federal government to be the overlord of the country. The states controlled themselves and the federal government just oversaw it was to deal with things of National interest like national defense.

The Confederacy SUPPORTED the U.S. Constitution. Confederacy decided to quit after one central Government took too much power and violated the Constitution.

The Confederate Constitution is almost the same as the U.S. Constitution.

Confederate States simply did not believe that ONE central Government power should be able to tell all the other States how to behave.

“United” States means we are different but united in our general cause. It does NOT mean that one central Government gets to makes rules governing ALL States.

Here, here Canary!  Our federal government is performing just like all of the oligarchs have in the last 150 years. And now it is acting as Russia’s and Germany’s did in the early 1900’s. They have taken over the news media and dividing the population. I can’t remember who first termed the phrase, “United we stand, divided we fall!”  I’m thinking it was Ben Franklin.

One thing that started in the 1960’s are earlier was when the government started all of the terms like Irish-Americans, African-Americans, etc.  To me, if you are an American citizen, then you are an American, period!  The hell with all of the hyphenated people!

If you stand for nothing, you fall for anything! And you can try, but, you can’t fix stupid!
