First 2 that come to mind are Dueling Banjos from “Deliverance” and LaBamba from, well, “LaBamba”

The first second I read Kenny’s question on this, two songs came to mind:

Pinball Wizard–Elton John’s 1975 FILM version of The Who’s original “rock opera” version, really nailed it in my opinion ( still to this day, does )…..however FM stations nationwide choose to air the lamer version from The Who.

And I have no honest idea why this other song popped into my mind, but the Kris Kristofferson song “Watch Closely Now”, from the original movie, A Star Is Born.  I just found the YouTube video of the song–and it’s 3 minutes of what defined mid-70’s era of sex, drugs ( alcohol included ) and Rock n’ Roll in it’s prime.  I remember the song got light FM airplay back in ’76, but it was good enough for me to remember it in 2021!!

Yes… that would win… but I think this is for songs that already existed, and the movie brought attention to it.

Great song and a great movie if you ignore the middle of it

      Deodato- Also Sprach Zarathustra.

This is a funk version of the theme song from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

This version was featured in the Peter Sellers movie Being There.

It is also my exit music.

Wasn’t made for the movie but in the movie “The Departed” Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb with Van Morrison. It made me appreciate the song all over again. It was preformed live at the Berlin Wall. If you haven’t heard this version, check out the video on YouTube

“Sweet Home Alabama” is the greatest song of all time… but I cannot recall what movie it might have been in

I am editing myself… it was played on Con Air after the prisoners took over the plane

And the crazy guy said “define irony… A bunch of idiots on a plane dancing to a song who all died in a plane crash”

I am willing to bet that most people never heard “What a Wonderful World” until that Vietnam movie with Robin Williams

This might be a bit off topic, but I pee’d next to Bruce Springsteen at a New Jersey Reserve Center.

He actually seems like a nice guy when talking face-to-face.  I like some of his music.

I have two balls and a dick… I think “Top Gun” wins.  I am not gay… but I think that “Top Gun” has the best opening of a any movie in the world… MAYBE “Apocalypse  Now ” is a close second
